Onyx Version:
12.0
Printer(s):
Oce Arizona 480XT

I have downloaded and installed (separately) onyx x12 thrive 'demo' 30 day full operating trial to try out. but for some reason it wont allow me to print an icc chart and 'build' icc. i can read charts, import icc profiles and charts but still wont allow me to build.

i need to be able to make an icc to make sure i am getting what i need.

thanks.

Hi Pauly , I missed this one question from you:
"but for some reason it wont allow me to print an icc chart and 'build' icc."

The answer is easy - the highest magic of the whole profiling is hidden in the ICC profile generation.
No manufacturer is giving ICC generation unlocked in their demo version.
Building the profile in a new demo version, and using it in the old production version would be a very cheap way...

Yep you're right, I found the list of what is working in the licence key.

I have now upgraded to x12. And the Chromaboost option works wonders, still trying to perfect the reds but closer now.

Honestly, 12x from x10 is a massive upgrade. faster, smoother, much nicer to work wit. quicksets are easier to use. i can go on and on.

No idea what exactly is the ChromaBoost (impossible to find deeper info)... probably one more sophisticated gamut mapping algorithm. From my experience this only helps to get the last bits of color. I´m still thinking you have some other "systematic" problem with profiling (like too dark white, or weak black), but good to know, thanks. And wish you good luck.

The problem is still there, the chromaboost option allows to get more colour from the profile, but it's not the solution. Will do another thread for update in what's happening.
