Problem with Onyx and Graphtec CE 5000 120

We just recently purchased the Graphtec CD 5000 120 to use with Production House. Our main purpose was for using it to do contour cuts. We managed to get it to work, but have had trouble getting it to line up correctly with the print. I noticed that the registration marks that onyx prints for the Graphtec cutters are 25 mm long, but the maximum size you can set the cutter to is 20 mm. I don't know if this could throw the cutter off enough to cause the print and cut not to line up, but something is definately wrong. It seems to correct for a skew that isn't there after reading the marks. So I guess my question is if anyone has a graphtec CE5000 up and running with Onyx and Cutserver and if there are any special settings for Onyx or the cutter I need to adjust to get it to work. The CE5000 is supposedly supported in 7.3. Any help would be very appreciated. Behind on a couple of jobs and can't afford to pay for Onyx support at the moment. Graphtec has been no help either because they won't deal with Onyx software.

There's another user that's on this forum who has that same plotter and was anxiously awaiting the support that came with it (supposedly) in 7.1. I haven't seen him on here in awhile, but I'll send him an email and see if he's had any success and/or issues. Maybe he can jump in and comment.

I will also send a message to the engineers and see if the one who wrote the drivers for that device can enlighten us at all.

BTW, have you contacted your Onyx dealer about this issue? They may be able to help you out, and if not they receive support direct from Onyx anyway, so you might be able to get it figured out in a roundabout way through them as the middle man.

I was told however that there are no other known reported cases of other users with the device having that problem, so it may just be a configuration issue on the graphtec itself.

I never thought about that, but I may give that a try. I'm sure something just needs set in the cutter, but they don't bother to tell you the correct settings. For instance, I couldn't get it to work at all until I called Graphtec and they call Onyx and found out you have to switch the cutter from hpgl to gpgl and I figured out on my own to change the step size to 1026. No mention of that in any documentation that I have found anywhere on Onyx site.
