Hi everyone, I am trying to create a new media for the HP 360 with media manager. I can build it up to when I have to print the calibration swatch or if I skip that it also stops at the Ink limits swatch. I created a new media name based on a media from the HP. My Question is do need to create a new media at the HP first then go to Onyx to finish it?
Help! Any information would be of great help.

I run an HP Latex 370, which is basically the 360, just with a bulk ink system, and when I create new profiles, I do everything on the HP itself. I usually clone a similar media, choose my pass setting (generally 10 pass for like vinyls, 8 pass for banners) and I run my saturation test, and color calibrations and such, all from the printer itself.
My printer then almost always sends that information to Onyx 12. If it doesn't restarting Onyx (If its not running any prints) will usually force it to update the materials, and it will then download the profile I created on the printer. Usually takes me about an hour total. (including wait time for all my programs to update with the new profile information)

The Printer is A Contone device, so all profiles need to be setup inside the printer first.

Follow the on screen instructions.

Once you have finished every step, then it will be set inside the printer and on next boot of Onyx or when loading the media, it will be transferred to Onyx.

Final tip: If you build the ICC using an external device, you will get a better profile and more neutral BW halftones.

Remember to backup your Onyx print install if creating external ICC's, these are not transferred to the device and will be lost if your PC dies.

You mean like doing profiles in the usual way is significantly better than doing them in printer? Eek!
Nice feature then... very useful... Eek! Confused

I've found the inbuilt icc on the 360 to be very neutral and good. No need for external building with this printer. It is so dumbed down anyone can use it and get great results unless you got no idea.

Saying that, the slightest problem with light magenta printhead will throw out your neutrals.
