Hello,

I am a new member here in Los Angeles. Just got a copy of ProductionHouse X10 to drive an HP z6100ps, and in a couple weeks two additional HP z6200's.

My previous experience using RIPs include the old EFI Docstream for HP 5500's, Colorburst for Epson 3800, and a Creo Spire for a Kodak Docucolor 260. Also, I have been using Profilemaker 5 for a number of years, since 2004 maybe.

I currently work for an advertising firm, and the HP's are for printing comps of different designs from 8x10 up to 40"x120." For the past 2 years we've just been using the PS driver and the built in queue of the z6100ps. I've been creating the custom profiles thru either PM5 or the HP Advanced profile solution, and have been having great results so far. Now that we'll be having 3 printers we needed a RIP and Onyx X10 is what we chose.
The output so far is not what I'd call ideal, from either the built in X10 HP media settings or the first couple times attempting to create and profile a new media thru media manager. I chalk up to inexperience with the Onyx workflow, which will get better with time.

I look forward to expanding my knowledge, from both past and future threads.

Thank you,

Robert

Glad to have you here, and glad you didn't give up already =)

There's numerous other z6 users on here so atleast you've got a crowd that knows your specific machines. There are also some real color management/profiling pros on here as well (and I literally mean pros as in that's what they do for a living).

If you don't mind my asking, where did you hear about this site? I only ask as I have never marketed anything, so it's all been word of mouth so far, from what I know.

I am one of those numerous Z users. I'm versed in color management, though I wouldn't say expertly versed...
Welcome, and glad you found the site. It's been uber useful for me!
