I am trying to find a material that is fabric or "fabric -like" that can be run on either an aqueous IJ or a UV curable machine. The material would need to print very sharply, including at times very fine text. (research posters).

It would also need to be able to be easily cut without fraying or stretching.

Ideally it would be able to be folded up and then opened up and not see any noticable folds.

It does exist as there are some online poster printing companies that offer it, but none of my vendors has been able to come up with a decent product for me.

TIA

Can you post a link to one of the firms offering it?

It's absolutely allowed. Go ahead and post it. I'm curious as well.

Berger Samba fabric, works best with UV inks not leaving any fold marks. Not sure the actual resolution you are trying to achieve - if u email me the file i can print it on our OCE 350gt - I already know it works brilliantly of our Durst rho500r.

Thanks Nishan...I'll research that material.

The video shows a very see through fabric like a flagtex. I have fabrics I run on both aqueous and solvent, so will do the fold it up test and see if you've introduced me to a new way of selling them!

Flagtex, doesn't crease at all dead easy. Only prob is, like the sample in the video, it's really a fine mesh and doesn't take much ink - images can be a bit weak. Also - as in the video on the link you posted - you can see through it. Fine if you're against a solid colour background or a nice plain white, but you'll get show through of any pattern behind the cloth. (so hanging against a wall paper or similar would be poor.)

If that's what you're trying to copy, any lightweight flag polyester is probably going to suit.

Nice concept. Wonder how big the travelling poster carrying market is?

I think show through is going to be an issue, but not positive.

In my area the market for this is pretty big. I have a handful of clients that produce these, but there are certainly many more.
