Hi!

We´re having issues with printing banners, anyone out there with a good profile?

The problem is particularly visible on black, we´re gettin something that looks like oil spills and some weird wave effect.

We´ve tested two different banner medias and the problem is still there. HP support suggested cleaning the Y-K print heads / wrong cure temperature, but nothing work so far..

Hi this is a common problem often reported with Latex.

Cheap banner that is imported from a distance (Asia usually) has large amounts of plasticiser that has migrated to the surface and leaves roller marks.

The warmer the environment the easier it is to see the effect and thus on a Latex they are easily visible.

There is only one sensible workaround - source a different banner. You can use isopropyl alcohol to remove the surface plasiciser before printing but that's a ball ache.

Generally as this migration of the plasticiser takes time, the longer ago it was made & stored / transported the worse the effect - thus fresh, locally-made banner will be best and usually this is the most expensive i'm afraid.

Also as it is a time issue you can have variations within the same media brand - Ultraflex is sometimes fine and sometimes difficult depending on batch for example.

If you are in the States Herculite Bantex or Cooley is a good choice I understand.
